Chocolate industry side streams as a valuable feedstock for microbial long-chain dicarboxylic acid production

چکیده
Two high-fat containing side streams from the chocolate industry were evaluated as an alternative renewable substrate for biochemical long-chain dicarboxylic acid (DCA) production by Candida tropicalis. Cleaning water liquid transport and dissolved air flotation (DAF) sludge wastewater treatment plant contained 29 18 m% fat respectively. The addition of up to 100 g.L−1 ‘chocolate water’ 80 % (v/v) DAF had no negative effects on both growth DCA production. In a fed-batch reactor, concentration 5.8 was obtained after 120 h 47.5 consumed fats converted upon glucose when using water. Using sludge, 4.9 72 h, equalling 37.5 fats. This research shows potential researched

Microbial Enzyme Production Using Lignocellulosic Food Industry Wastes as Feedstock: A Review
Enzymes are of great importance in the industry due to their substrate and product specificity, moderate reaction conditions, minimal by-product formation and high yield. They are important ingredients in several products and production processes. Up to 30% of the total production cost of enzymes is attributed to the raw materials costs. The food industry expels copious amounts of processing wa...

متن کاملEngineered Microbial Production of 2-Pyrone-4,6- Dicarboxylic Acid from Lignin Residues for Use as an Industrial Platform Chemical
As one of the most abundant materials in nature, lignin has been used widely in co-generation operations and for fine chemicals and bio-fuels production. These uses, although important, are of relatively low value. Lignin contains many aromatic compounds with useful structures, and it is potentially more profitable to produce high-value fine chemicals from the low-molecular weight lignin fracti...
متن کاملBrewer's spent grain: a valuable feedstock for industrial applications.
Brewer's spent grain (BSG) is the most abundant by-product generated from the beer-brewing process, representing approximately 85% of the total by-products obtained. This material is basically constituted by the barley grain husks obtained as solid residue after the wort production. Since BSG is rich in sugars and proteins, the main and quickest alternative for elimination of this industrial by...
